Royal Irish Constabulary 1920 , ex servicemen answer the call for help, the constable on the right wears the ribbon of the Military Medal for gallantry , these brave men were nicknamed ‘The Black and Tans’. And maintained law and order in the South of Ireland until the treaty.

Major Jocelyn Lee Hardy, who had an extraordinary war career with the Connaught Rangers and Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, in which he lost a leg , became Intelligence officer , ‘F’ Coy , Auxiliary Div, R.I.C, at Dublin castle, a legendary figure and much feared by Ira terrorists

HMS Centaur, Centaur class aircraft carrier, built by Harland & Wolff Belfast, launched in 1947, laid down too late to serve in 2nd WW, she saw service in the post war Navy for nearly 20 years.
