True. Just been enjoying Alan Bennett Diaries' glorious book #TheUncommonReader. What's your own favourite short book or novella? #sizeisnteverything
This is so true! I did 80 feedbacks today and I may be slightly mad! Our readers read and then I read and then combine feedback in the document and thanks also to Norah Blakedon who has been helping me too! We have about 800 left to go out of 1980! Getting there folks!
I'm so proud of my writing buddy, editorial consultant and friend-for-ever @veewalkerwrites ๐๐น whose story #NiceDog is shortlisted for the prestigious BBC National Short Story Awards #BBCNSSA What an achievement! Super-enormous Congrats! CannyEdit Jericho Writers
Ooh lร lร ! 1000+ entries from published novelists and CannyEditor @veewalkerwrites ๐๐น is on the shortlist of 5. Her 6,500 word short story #NiceDog will soon form part of a stunning anthology from Comma Press๐ #CeasefireNow. #BBCNSSA #shortstories #chihuahua
For anyone craving pix of blue sky, sadly lacking in the Highlands this year. Love Ville de Nice, anyone else been?
So grateful to Kirsty Wark who came straight off a flight and into the BBC Scotland Glasgow studio to interview me (here in Inverness!). Much hilarity re 'messages-pisses'. Hear it on BBC Front Row tomorrow night from Glasgow, from 19.15, and #NiceDog at 15.30 on Thursday 19th.
Meanwhile, the author of this equally delicious fictionalised work, Paterson Joseph, aka the great actor Paterson Joseph, is about to read #DubitheChihuahua into life in an abridged version of #NiceDog, on BBC Radio 4 at 15.30. Can't wait! ๐ ed public relations #shortstories Cambridge ICE Centre for Creative Writing
So today's the day a #Chihuahua takes over BBC Radio 4, 15.30 UK time...
Wow. So that's all five shortlisted #BBCNSSA #shortstories broadcast, an astonishing variety of themes and voices. Here's a link to the last, #GhostKitchen by Ross Raisin. I can't order food by courier here in the wilds but if you can, and do, listen! bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00โฆ
