jj singleton Katie How Phuong Gallagher and I address it is: “Survivor in active treatment.”
When people first hear “cancer” they say “Oh, I’m so sorry,” but when you say “It’s been 17 years,” they assume it’s something in the past.
When you combine the 2 - they see the reality of it all.
April is #NationalMinorityHealthMonth .
My views about #ClinicalTrials changed from fear & suspicion to being informed & empowered. Our doctors need to BELIEVE us when we report rare side effects or ones that have never been reported and NOT dismiss us.
Thanks Bayer Oncology Medical! 🙌🏽
Some people will say 'oh #bowelcancer runs in the family'.
But do they know there's #genetictesting available to see if it's more than bad luck? That there could be a mutated gene involved that's driving it? And If you know you have it there's ways to reduce that risk? 🧬 🧐
I'm delighted that the nick OCS is highlighting survivor voices for National Cancer Survivors' Month - Phuong Gallagher
