🎶’If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it’🎵 A Sun-ring is caused by sunlight refracting through ice crystals in high, thin cirrus clouds. A beautiful phenomenon above our 70-metre antenna dish, Deep Space Station 43.📡

BREAKING NEWS FROM BENNU! Samples from asteroid #Bennu contain carbon-based molecules and amino acids-the building blocks of life. These materials could reveal clues about the chemistry that shaped our solar system and how life’s ingredients may have reached Earth. #OSIRISREx

Exciting times ahead as we prepare to install this giant L-band feedhorn onto the receiver cones of our 70m antenna! This crucial component will enhance our capabilities in radio astronomy, allowing us to explore the universe like never before. Stay tuned for more updates! 📡〰️🌌

Some folks hike for the views, but I hike for the history. I’ve been climbing Mount Sharp since 2014, reading layers of Martian rock. Each one holds clues from a time when Mars was more Earth-like. The Red Planet has stories to tell – and I’m enjoying every chapter.

49 Years Ago This Week... In July 1976, Viking 1 touched down on Mars, sending back humanity's first high resolution images of another world....from the bushland of Tidbinbilla, our antenna DSS43 - Ballima - 'very far away' in Ngunnawal, reached across space to hear its call 📡
