This is relevant to my interests, as someone who loves night shifts. One thing missing: be aware of how tired you are before considering whether it’s safe to drive home. I absolutely will nap at the hospital before driving home. Don’t let night shifts kill you or others.

I would like to thank two-months-ago me for booking a flight with the option for free rebooking for my Vegas trip because I have to come back two days early.

Emerg has never been the safety net. That’s primary care; the place that should catch people before they crash. We’re where they land if that fails. Decades of devaluing primary care has cut so many holes in that safety net. So many are falling through onto us, sicker than ever.

If you are pregnant, get a TDaP. If you live with a pregnant person or newborn, check your vaccination status and get a booster. Pertussis immunity is NOT permanent! Anecdotally, many pertussis cases in our region are in adults who don’t suspect that they are susceptible.
