Thank you to the #CdnAgYouth Council for having us out to join their meeting in Ottawa yesterday! Our President, Emily and Past President, Scott enjoyed meeting some other young leaders in agriculture and hearing about what's going on in the different sectors.

Day 2 took us to the JBS processing plant and corporate headquarters. It was the ideal way to wrap up our tours, providing a look at the industry from farm to fork. Thank you to JBS for taking the time to discuss purchasing, exports, markets, and more with our young leaders!

We are in Ottawa for Canadian Cattle Association’s AGM. Yesterday's youth fly-in day took a unique turn with learning sessions on lobbying, as MPs are in their constituencies. The council toured West Block, thanks to MP Rachael Thomas’s office, and were witnesses in a mock committee meeting.

The council then headed to Canadian Cattle Association's Ottawa Office for a 'lobbying 101' talk with Jennifer Babcock followed by a meeting with AAFC Canada's #CdnAgYouth Council. A great opportunity to connect with other youth in Agriculture and see where we can collaborate going forward!

To wrap up the day, the council took part in Mock MP Meetings with Canadian Cattle Association board members, Craig McLachlin and Matt Bowman. This provided an opportunity to apply what they learned and receive valuable feedback. A big thank you to Craig and Matt for their expertise!
