This is what intellectual honesty looks like.

I support the right of people to speak, even when what they say is abhorrent.

The solution to speech you don't like is more speech. Censorship, paradoxically, makes the 'forbidden' view stronger, not weaker.

If you want an account of the debate over social media, including the Skeptics' side, please see this summary in Vox by Eric Levitz.

Note that some of the skeptics even doubt that there is a real youth mental health crisis. They point to factors…

Caring about your customers is required to build excellent products. Here’s a great example failing hard at this:

This isn't unique to China.

Go to Tokyo. Go to Taipei. Go to Singapore. Go to Seoul.

Asia, in general, has massively outperformed on city / quality of life vs. America.

Much to be learned.

Whether you agree with BrendanEich's faith or not, we should all agree with the principle that we should strive to live together in at least acceptance (you don't have to agree, but disagreeing respectfully is a sign of strength) and not demonize people for their beliefs.…

If you don't pay, and the amount is significant, the credit card company can and will sue you. You will lose in court (you did not pay) and your wages will be garnished, property can be seized/have liens applied, and so on.

Unless you are actually bankrupt. Diff't story then.

Just landed in the Middle East as Iran-Israel are supposedly on the verge of war. Such timing.

Quick thoughts:

- Crypto flush entirely driven by war headlines plus ofc liquidations. $BTC dropped 5%, alts a gnarly 20%-40% before bouncing.
- Events seem to be a miniature and…

Ah yes, the unreasonable demand to not commit perjury and make false statements in Federal Court.

Do better, Better Markets.

Or do you endorse the SEC’s conduct in Debt Box?

Listening back to interviews with Mango exploiter Avi Eisenberg from last year. I don't know him, but he comes across as a deeply unhappy and deeply cynical person.

'Code is law' is a very complex concept, but when oversimplified, it may be particularly appealing to nihilists.

More people should have the intellectual honesty to admit when they learn things and/or when they are wrong; this is actually a sign of intellectual strength and integrity.

Well done Basel Musharbash. Respect.

This makes no sense unless we also ban dividends. The buyback preference over dividends is almost entirely tax related; if you tax-equalized them buybacks would likely reduce.

The problem is not buybacks. It is incentives.

This is, unfortunately, the advice I have given to several of my clients as well.

Think about that: I'm an American, I've testified in front of Congress because I care about this issue, and I believe in this tech.

And I'm telling our best and brightest to leave.

Another problem rural Japan faces is the depopulation as the population ages and the few young people leave.

Towns just die off.

Much like the ghost towns of the American West, they just run out of people and a purpose to exist, sometimes.
