Look at this amazing proportional reasoning for option A, and the assumptions another student made for choosing option B, wow! We love number sense routines in this class, and we are good at them!

We presented our findings about why the mixed number multiplication algorithm works. We used partial products to explain why: The algorithm is a short cut for decomposing the numbers to multiply them. Amazing collaboration and problem solving were involved in this work!

We presented our challenging math tasks this morning Ms. Schwartz was amazed at how quickly we figured out how to tackle this problem! Can you see the connections between how the group solved the question?

I thought we made a lot of generalizations about the concept of relationships! Today we did concept formation for the concept of technology and my scientists created some amazing ideas.

We are testing our ramp surfaces today to determine how they influence the amount of friction the car experiences as it goes down the ramp.

Hard at work on our social studies PBLs in fifth grade! Some of us are making physical artifacts, and others are doing digital ones.

Thanks for a great Back-to-School Night! Here is a highlight from earlier today when Mrs. Schwartz’s class teamed up with the sixth graders to share data that they collected and analyzed in a gallery walk.
