Pleased to have shared our views on the need for government at both the national and local levels to listen to a variety of different voices, if we are to bring about deep and lasting change #Camden voice4change-england.org/post/voices-fr…

There is no need for landlords to treat their tenants "like family" as this can blur and confuse the boundaries of what should be a professional relationship. So, instead, just treat them with respect and provide a decent service #camden

How ever increasing rents in the private rented sector are changing the dynamics of housing tenure and poverty #camden

Our new analysis in The i Paper shows more than 1 in 4 peers in House of Lords are landlords or have ties to property or lettings. The government must "hold their nerve and not give an inch to the vested interests trying to water down this crucial legislation” - Tom Darling

We've been saying for a long time now that the £16K capital limit introduced back in 2013 needs to be updated #camden

Thousands are still being marched out of their homes due to a section 21 no-fault eviction. A policy that should already be history. The #RentersRightsBill promises to bring Section 21 to an end but without measures to tackle huge rent hikes, renters can still be forced out.

According to data provided by Camden Council for every £1 someone earns at the median or middle wage, 63p of it goes towards the rent. If not rent control, then what, as this is clearly not sustainable ?

CFPT (@camdenfpt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

In 2024, there were 968 Camden families living in temporary accommodation. In 2023, the figure was 663 and in 2022 it was 536. Again, this growth is simply not sustainable for the people trapped in this type of housing or for the Council budgets paying for it.

This outlines clearly the private rented sector enforcement crisis that is facing many of the capital's local councils #camden

You know how bad something really is in housing when you read a sentence like this: They have gone back to private renting because, according to Chris, it is "much simpler and easier". #camden

Really "The private rental sector is a fantastic place to be, it offers social security and provides a really important service as well.” #camden

Spoke to 2 female renters today - one is 70 years old (and has lived in her home for 17 years) and the other is 35 years old. Both of them are paying ridiculously high rents, both of them are facing large rent increases, and both of them could end up homeless very soon #camden
