In a fun collaboration with Deepak Rao, my superstar PhD student Calvin Law (with Vanessa and Cyan from the Rao lab) discovered mechanisms underlying CXCL13 production specifically and more broadly B-helper T cell differentiation in lupus. nature.com/articles/s4158…

CXCL13 shows up prominently in T cells in autoimmune tissues and tumors. Human Tfh and Tph cells produce lots of CXCL13, yet its regulation is pretty unclear. With beautiful CRISPR screens by Jaehyuk Choi, Calvin Law, we found a few key factors... nature.com/articles/s4158…

In a fun collaboration with Deepak Rao , we tried to decipher the circuitry underlying CXCL13 expression. Chemokine that is prominently expressed by B-helper T cells, exhausted CD8+ T cells, and exhausted PD1-high CD4+ T cell lymphomas.
