Congratulations to Professor Frances Arnold (Frances Arnold) on receiving the 2025 Priestley Medal! 🎉 The ACS is honoring Arnold, "for her pioneering contributions to the development of directed evolution as a method for chemical and biological design." cce.caltech.edu/news-and-event…
What an honor to be chosen for the Priestley Medal. #Enzymes are the best chemists, of course, but the Priestley medalists are no slouches...and include many of my colleagues Caltech Chemistry & Chemical Engineering. Thank you!
I am excited to share our latest discovery which is out now in J. Am. Chem. Soc.! This study uncovers how engineered hemoproteins can leverage biological nitrogen cycle intermediates for enzymatic C–H amination, opening new paths towards sustainable synthesis. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
Today we report in J. Am. Chem. Soc. a novel and highly modular platform for mechanically triggered chemiluminescence (bright light emission) from polymers. Congrats to Peng Liu|刘朋, Yu-Ling (Debbie), and coworkers! Collab with Shabat Group. Caltech Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Caltech pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Mark your calendars! Professor Bil Clemons is set to kick off the 2024–25 Watson Lecture season on October 23. His lecture will highlight his lab's (Clemons Lab @Caltech) work in structural biology and explain how viruses can help fight bacterial infections.
Popping on here for the first time in forever to share this paper. I’m very proud of this work, a collaboration between my group and the Peters group Caltech Chemistry & Chemical Engineering. Amazing work by Chung, Emily and Dave, our part supported by Center for Synthetic Organic Electrochemistry science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
In a new study published in Science, chemists from the Reisman group (Sarah Reisman) and Peters group found a solution that allows the samarium diiodide reagent to, essentially, recycle itself for repeated use in a single reaction. cce.caltech.edu/news-and-event…
Thrilled to share that, as of today, I've moved to Caltech Chemistry & Chemical Engineering! It's a truly unique & special place. Looking forward to exciting new adventures! Our lab will still be pushing full steam ahead Princeton University this year before we complete the move to the west coast next summer. [1/2]
