I dearly hope Adil Rashid will not be lost to the county game for ever. He is talented enough to play in red ball and white ball and if you are not featuring in the IPL then why not play red ball for your county. I remain baffled by this decision.

Billy Stanlake is a brilliant signing for Yorkshire CCC one of the stand out players in the recent tri-nations T20 series for winners Australia.

I have been working- sadly not Down Under- on ashes, T 20 and 50 overs from England during the winter I am delighted with the signing of Bill Stanlake for YCCC. A real talent who can only get better and is quicker than Mitchell Starc.

Good analogy. Woolworths and the wonders of pick-n-mix didn't translate itself well online, whereas support for county cricket is thriving online though we need to still pack stadiums too. x.com/bendirs1/statu…

The game of cricket is changing and the many lovers of the county game most react to recent events by turning up at their counties and watching games. There is no point in following the game from afar. It is time to back the four day game.

Embarrassed by some of the comments made towards Nigel Owens MBE - Watched game for second time - particular focus on key decisions... England Rugby can have no complaints about Scottish Rugby win. Many things to blame - None of them Nigel.

I think Huddersfield Town are really doing well. I am keeping fingers crossed they stay up.This is a club run superbly on and off the field. Very impressed.

Several big sporting dinners in Leeds on Thursday and one of them at Headingley is for the legend Dickie Bird OBE. We are all aware of the poor weather, but remain very hopeful of going ahead. If you have booked- 7pm in the Long Room or a tad earlier in these conditions.

What makes me chuckle is those that have quit Red ball cricket or are being mentioned to be quiting have not been picked up in the T20 Leagues .... Those that have haven’t quit !!!!!!! All seems to be the wrong way round to me !!!!! #JustSaying

Great point made by Michael Vaughan on those who are quitting red ball cricket. He is a very astute follower of the game. A great former captain as well.

Brilliant Bairstow. Showing what a class act he is. Root superb, but dreadful collaspe by England. Consolation is they still have a good score on the board.

David Callaghan (@callycricket) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Bairstow not only supreme with the bat in Dunedin, but superb in the field as well. Down side is England should have scored 370 plus. However, it is set up for a grandstand finale and that is good for the 50 over game.

FT: Leeds United 0 Wolves 3 Men against boys, in all honesty. Saw #wwfc at Hull in August and they looked like champions even back then. A fine side and just too good for #lufc

Watching the latest New Zealand v England one dayer was a privilege. To see Ross Taylor, JB and Rooty bat as they did just shows how good cricket can be.
