Picking stones in Winter Wheat and had to leave all machinery out of the field with the tracks being left... All stones picked into the tramline, it'll be a bumpy job spraying the next round 😂

1st round is officially done, might have took a knife instead of teeth 🫣 half the 1st cut also mowed out. Couldn't travel with fertilizer without damaging ground last Thursday. Serious turnaround and long may it last 👌

Bulling heifers out at long last 🙈 will hold them on the milking platform for a few days to clean up paddocks cut for silage then off to outblocks to do the same job. 👌 I think they're happy to be out 😁🌱☘️

This crop always amazes me with what it can do in the month of April, spends all winter developing a serious root structure gathering up any N. Kicks into overdrive once the days get longer 👌 expecting an 8T/acre crop and approx cost of €30/T including sowing, fert and cutting.

Back to getting more heifers moved out from training paddocks to the outblocks, plan is to keep them on meal and hay for a few weeks to avoid any upsets 🤞

Reseed from the start of May up nicely 👌 not too many weeds yet, spray planned in for early next week to take out what's there. Same mix as last 2 years of reseeds, so far grown 1TDM/ha more than farm average ☘️🌱

Great to have the team out on farm this week to show them round our place and hear all the new developments planned for the future! Big focus on grazing and improving on farm decisions with better clearer data 👌

Winter barley has done well considering it's start 👌 combine won't be too far away now, hopefully it stays standing until then 🤞

Last of the second cut going down 3 weeks later than normal and no heavier. Downside of a delayed 1st cut and a harsh June. Quality still decent 👌 question now will be to let 3rd cut on for bulk or go early and aim for a fourth 🤔

In calf heifers are happy to be getting a move out to some fresh grass 👌 92% in calf in 7 weeks of breeding. Hopefully these hills will carry them for another few months. Avg EBI €248

Some of the Spring born dairy beef calves mixed in with the 2023 born Autumn calves. Moved on to some after grass which should help lift the lwg 📈 if only grass could be this good year round

OSR gone in after a winter wheat and a winter barley, glad we didn't tear on and muck it in last week. Conditions couldn't be better now 👌 GPS working wonders making up for an average operator 😂

Well worth a watch, visited a few farms over here with these lads a couple of years ago and they have a very interesting mindset to farming and progressing the sector. Running a diverse business and thriving with it.
