Like so many things, there is something beautiful about it too -- that in the midst of the loss there was great gain. It's just strange how the feelings cut both ways. It's good, and it's also hard. I'm full of love and full of grief. Beauty doesn't cancel pain, nor vice versa.

I would never have wished my lost baby away so that I could have my living one. But likewise, I could never wish my lost baby back at the expense of having my living one.

I want them both, but I can't have them both.

I'm glad I don't have to choose, but it still hurts.

It's strange having a living baby after a miscarriage, especially when the living baby is an age where you physically would not have been able to have him if the first baby had survived.
