Here at #COP27 and #OceanPavilion with a talk today at 10:30 on "Blue Climate Solutions: Considering the ocean's role in our path to net negative emissions" I will be sure to mention our new report on R&D priorities for ocean iron fertilization oceaniron.org/our-plan/ Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)

A #Falmouth Enterprise piece on dumping of #radioactive water in #Cape Cod Bay is well balanced but when I said "the solution to pollution is dilution" it was to point out this is INCORRECT. Accumulation in marine animals and seafloor sediments can occur for many radionuclides

Well spoken words from Henry Puna the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum. Have a look at- Japan must work with the Pacific to find a solution to the Fukushima water release issue – otherwise we face disaster theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Learn more here about the issues with #radioactivity at #Fukushima and a decision to release these wastes into the ocean. See article from Dennis Normile in Science- bit.ly/3Y4kaKQ

We @exois-oceaniron.bsky.social are in agreement that more science is needed before we deploy ocean CDR at scale. These studies are urgent, but do not replace need for emissions reductions. More from Kerry and D. Ho on Carbon Removal Technologies via @theenergymix theenergymix.com/2023/05/02/ker…

@exois-oceaniron.bsky.social Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Hoping some of you can help us broaden our support for studies of #Ocean iron fertilization by following and donating to ExOIS. We are making the case #COP28 for emissions reductions and CO2 removal, and OIF is worth exploring for #CDR

Carbon dioxide removal will be needed to mitigate the climate crisis and the oceans will play a significant role. Mitigation strategies incl. #OceanIronFertilization will be discussed COP28 UAE #OceanPavilion 10 Dec, 5pm by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) scientist Ken Buesseler Ken Buesseler National Academies

A pleasure to meet Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey at the COP28 UAE #OceanPavilion yesterday. Thank you Ed Markey for your support of #science to tackle the #ClimateCrisis

Can the oceans be part of our climate solution? Check out thsi article- Will stashing more CO2 in the ocean help slow climate change? sciencenews.org/article/ocean-… related to our work Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and CMER

what a great group at our ExOIS gathering Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) last week. Our goal is to evaluate if adding #iron to the #ocean is an efficient and responsible approach to reducing atmospheric CO2. And if so, provide the protocols to do this. Getting back to work Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) after co-teaching a great 4 day training course on marine radioactivity. With lectures, field and lab work our 30+ students got an intensive intro. Check out diversity of affiliations bit.ly/3X7qHVW . Quite a success!

This is the first time in over a decade that the marine scientific community has come together to endorse a research plan for ocean #iron & #carbondioxide #removal - check out the science and social issues we @ExOIS considered whoi.edu/press-room/new…
