Very busy start at the top of the flight we needed to space the boats out to control the amount of water going down 14 boats entered in the 2hr window with 5VLKs to assist#LifesBetterByWater

The Kennet and Avon Canal was officially reopened, by the HM Queen Elizabeth II at Devizes today in 1990

Summer Saturday on the Flight today 7 boats & unusually more wide beams than Narrow boats in the 2hr window 4VLKs & our 100th Tweet

The Restrictions are being lifted as from tomorrow on the Flight normal summer hours 8am until 5pm exit by 8pm will apply

Back to Summer hours on the Flight 12 boats through with 3 VLKs to assist

Very warm today & a very quiet start but the day did eventually get going with 10 boats assisted by 4 VLKs

14 Boats through today with 8 VLKs on duty a mixed weather wise day with some welcome cooling showers & a passing steam Tractor with vans no doubt returning from the great Dorset steam fair

Only 8 boats through today but two of the nicest & proud boat owners we have ever met a real pleasure to help them from lock 25 up to lock 50

Today was the last of 3 working days in row 14 boats through & its amazing that a VLK can walk 15miles on a 0.6 mile section of locks
