We finished our lesson by taking our first class photo! Teachers Chantel Simon and @WoodwardMadi1 became quite teary at the end of the session as one student explained how much these classes mean to her. Very special @HarmonyatAuburn
We revisited the Ten Principles of Effective Mathematics Instruction and began to explore what constitutes rich tasks in mathematics. This video from Professor Janette Bobis assisted staff in understanding why rich tasks are so important and what is meant by productive struggle
Students learnt the sounds /g/ and /o/ before moving onto our reading session. After engaging in choral reading of our decodable reader some students even bravely demonstrated their progress by reading to the class. The social support is amazing! Decodable Readers Au @HarmonyatAuburn
We had a great start to our term 4 English class last week. 19 parents and grandparents came. A remarkable improvement and confidence could be seen in their speaking, writing and reading skills. Great work team! Chantel Simon @WoodwardMadi1 Palwasha Rashtia
Parents as Partners in Learning is a key initiative on our SIP. Another great session was held this morning with parents, teachers and students learning and having fun together. Thank you Chantel Simon Caitlin Wallace Katia Bourizk Jana-Elyse Picken @WoodwardMadi1
Our teachers hit the group running with their professional learning today. Teachers in their first two years of teaching Auburn North PS engaged in PL in the ANPS Instructional Model, complete with video analysis of Auburn North Literacy and Numeracy lessons. Excellent session!
Today Harmony house Parent English classes have started once again. Truly heart-warming to see our Auburn north teachers and parents in this class work so hard. Little ones are kept busy with activities, to help their mothers focus on learning English Auburn North PS Chantel Simon
