it took me three attempts get into UP.

1. UPCAT
2. Applied after a year but kulang pala ako ng 3 units to get in (lol salamat RelEd classes)
3. My final attempt na kumpleto na units ko. I aimed for UPLB but my acceptance email from UPD came first

there really are ways

UPCAT: If you passed, welcome to UP. If you didn't, you may try to transfer after a year. This is not the end of your dream. Remember that slots are limited. That you didn't make a cut doesn't mean that you failed. Hindi ka bobo. Gobyerno ang bobo dahil sa limitadong subsidyo.
