The rising crime rate in New Mexico is simply unacceptable. This will not be our new normal. The upcoming Special Legislative Session provides us with an opportunity to give law enforcement officials additional tools they need to better protect our youth and families. On this opening day of Special Legislative Session, we implore the legislature to recognize the incredible opportunity at hand. New Mexicans are desperate for solutions to the state’s crime problem. Let’s work together to chip away at this cycle of violence. This. Can’t. Wait.
