Wait, that baby may actually be sleeping! There are 2 stages of neonatal sleep: active & quiet. Infants in an active sleep state will have frequent body & facial movements, twitches, rapid eye movements, irregular heart & breathing rates. #CTCeducates #NICUnurse #NICUtherapist
