Canal Boat Diaries is back for another series! 🗓️ Monday 19th May at 8pm 📺 U&Yesterday Join Robbie Cumming aboard Naughty Lass as he cruises back to London, exploring waterways in the Southeast along the way, starting on the Oxford Canal.

The horse drawn narrowboat was once the only way to transport people and goods on our network. A horse pulling a boat or barge wastes minimal energy through friction, and it is this efficiency calculation led to the development of Britain's canal system in the 18th century. 🐴

Fly-Boats were the Prime Delivery drivers of their age. They were known for their speed and had a critical role in transporting goods swiftly across the network during Britain’s canal heyday. They were horse-drawn and ran day and night to provide an express delivery service. 📦
