Our #PlantOfTheWeek is Kleinia venteri. An unusual, cryptic, stoloniferous succulent. This is a very rare species, known only from the Polokwane District of the Limpopo Province, growing on flat to hilly open terrain in savanna vegetation.

Botanical illustrator Cythna Letty died today in 1985, and the Botanical Society SA of South Africa awards a medal in her name. An Honorary PhD from Wits University, she drew 730 illustration for Pole-Evan's "Flowering Plants of Africa" and published a revision of the genus Zantedeschia.
