The Planning & Infrastructure Bill is a major opportunity to shape how we plan, build, and restore nature across England, but it risks weakening local democracy and cutting communities out of vital decisions. Community voices must be heard. cpre.org.uk/opinions/can-t…

The Climate Change Committee has warned the UK is unprepared for climate impacts. We say it's time for the government rethink land use: 🏘️Use rooftops for solar & protect our prime farmland 🏗️Build on the brownfield first 🌍Protect land as a precious climate asset

It’s time for us to get smart on solar ☀️! Let’s unlock the potential that millions of our roofs have for solar – on suitable new homes, existing commercial buildings and large car parks – and protect our countryside at the same time. Are you with us? Pledge your support today

Rural homelessness is up 73% since 2018, with nearly 28,000 people homeless in the countryside. The Planning and Infrastructure Bill should: 🏡Link ‘affordable’ housing to local incomes not market rates 🎯Set legally binding targets for affordable and social homes

CPRE The countryside charity (@cpre) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The answer to the housing crisis isn’t to build on local parks, playing fields & farmland, it’s to transform the market and hold developers to account with ambitious and enforceable targets for social and genuinely affordable homes. bit.ly/43oVOk8

☀️ We don’t need to choose between clean energy and protecting the countryside. By making smarter use of rooftops and car parks, we can do both. Our Campaigns Lead, Jackie Copley, talks us through why putting solar panels on car parks is a no-brainer. bit.ly/4moPd0Q

🏘️ New towns could help tackle the rural housing crisis, but only if they’re done right. We need: ✅ A clear definition of genuinely affordable housing 🌱 A brownfield-first approach with strong protections for nature 🗣️ Meaningful public engagement 🏡 High-quality, sustainable

With communities across the country already deprived of nature, we can’t afford further loss of protections🚨 If Government doesn’t fix the the Planning Bill it must be rejected by Parliament 📢 We can't allow this application to demolish wildlife👇 express.co.uk/news/politics/…

Our Campaigns Lead Jackie Copley spoke at the Dept for Energy Security & Net Zero committee on solar & planning: ✅ Backed Energy Policy Statements for net zero 🔍 Called for strong environmental checks & public input 🏛️ Urged balance between climate goals & nature

🏘️ The Planning & Infrastructure Bill will cut local planning committees while ignoring the real issue: developers hoarding unbuilt homes to boost profits. We’re calling on government to protect local input and hold developers to account. bit.ly/43uoQOe
