CPCC supports Texas HB 2747 which would give the Texas attorney general more authority to review anticompetitive behavior in the healthcare market. Thank you to James Frank for sponsoring the bill.

Thank you to Governor Mike Braun and the Indiana Legislature for signing HB 1666 into law. Increased transparency in healthcare transactions will help place quality, doctor-directed care over profits.

Oregon lawmakers approved a CPCC-endorsed, strictest in the country, bill to block private-equity firms from controlling healthcare practices. Thank you to the Oregon legislature for this monumental step towards patient-centered care.

Big deal if gov signs this. Oregon would become the first state to address the key loophole that allows corporate outfits to own medical practices—despite state laws that expressly prohibit this. wsj.com/articles/orego…

A major new law has just been signed in Oregon that blocks private-equity firms from controlling healthcare practices. It's the strictest ban on corporate influence in medicine in the country.

Thank you to Gov. Tina Kotek and Rep. Ben Bowman for signing Oregon HB 951 into law. This bill is critical to ensuring only doctors with their patients (and not private equity) are able to make healthcare decisions.

Across my healthcare meetings at the FTC the most horrific stories always came from hospitals taken over by private equity. The land is sold out from under the hospital. ICU beds are staffed with 4 or 5 patients to a nurse. This is a huge day for Oregon.

While we commend the TCGunion-CWA for its tireless work to win a better severance package for its members, as eBay shareholders, we remain deeply concerned with their decision to displace skilled workers and erode trust with employees, investors, and customers.

Congrats to the Pennsylvania State House for passing HB 1460, which would require more accountability for private equity deals in healthcare. The CPCC calls on the Senate to advance the bill and Governor Josh Shapiro to sign it.
