Belinda Voos, former Nurse Consultant in Paediatric Neurosurgery Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, has been awarded an MBE for services to paediatric neurosurgical nursing – congratulations Belinda!

Well done to Mary Woods, now retired from the role of nurse consultant The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, who was awarded an MBE for services to lymphoedema.

Congratulations to Colin Angel Colin Angel who has also been awarded an MBE for services to domiciliary care. Colin was previously Policy and Campaigns Director at UK Homecare Association following a career as a registered nurse.

Professor Carol Doyle, who retired from the role of Head of School for Nursing and Midwifery Education at Birmingham City University Birmingham City University last year, has been awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for services to nurse education. Congratulations Carol!

Huge congratulations to Dr Lisa Ritchie, Head of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) NHS England who has been awarded an OBE for services to healthcare, particularly during Covid.

Congratulations to Lorraine Sunduza, Interim Chief Executive East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) and former chief nurse at the trust, who has been awarded an OBE for services to mental and community health.

Huge congratulations to Dr Denise Chaffer CBE who was awarded a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) for services to patient safety. Denise recently retired from the role of Director of Safety and Learning NHSResolution and served as The RCN President from July 2021 to December 2022.

I'd also like to congratulate my colleagues Professor Simon Kenny and Professor Mark Wilcox. Simon, National Clinical Director for Children and Young People NHS England and Consultant Paediatric Surgeon 🏥 Alder Hey 💙, has been awarded an OBE for services to paediatric surgery.

And Professor Mark Wilcox, former National Clinical Director for IPC NHS England and Chair of the SAGE Sub-Committee on Hospital Onset Covid Infection, was awarded an OBE for services to healthcare, particularly during Covid. Congratulations Simon Kenny and Mark!
