The filet mignon is cut from the beef tenderloin, which is part of the loin primal. The tenderloin itself runs through the short loin and the sirloin sections of the loin primal. This highly-prized cut of beef only represents 2-3% of the total animal.

It turns out potatoes and sweet potatoes are not related. Sweet potatoes come from the Convolvulaceae family, while potatoes are from the Nightshade family. Sweet potatoes are not tubers; rather, they are the root of the sweet potato plant.
