It was a special week in #Charlotte🇺🇸, spending time together and revisiting old tournament adventures we had on and off the board with my long-time friends #PeterLékó and #BorisGelfand.🙂 At the same time, all three of us were serving as coaches for the Elite Chess Champ

After running the Carolinas Classic with over 400 players, we had our annual Elite Camp, taught by Judit Polgar, Peter Leko, and Boris Gelfand. We also showed Polgar, Leko, and Gelfand our chess center and they came to our monthly meetup! Charlotte is the city for chess!

😱Tied for third (with GM Pia Cramling) finishing on 7 out of 9 in my best blitz tournament ever!!!💪 Also huge congrats to Oleksandr Bortnyk for going 9-0 and gaining 11 FIDE points and getting closer to 2800! 🥳

Congratulations to 7-year-old Ruben Quintans, who won the U2100 section of the Southeastern FIDE with a perfect 5-0! Ruben recently broke the record for being the youngest-ever US Chess expert and will now extend his rating lead as the #1 7-year-old FIDE player in the world!
