Hot take: Methotrexate does not cause liver fibrosis It’s ok to be cautious (periodic fibroscan). It’s ok to use MTX initiation as a trigger to look for fibrosis in at risk people (eg diabetes). But Time to turn the page pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36702175/ Edmond Atallah #livertwitter

Remarkably fast and reproducible. Granularity and reproducibility could reduce sample size in UC trials by ~ 50%. Reducing noise to reveal smaller signal can help, but do we need more "pretty good" UC drugs? Maybe yes if very convenient (oral), very safe (gut selective?), & cheap
