Rainfall in Nigeria is both a blessing & a struggle. It grows our farms & gives us water, but also causes floods that destroy homes & livelihoods. Each rainy season shows how unprepared we are from poor drainage to weak systems. #AACJInAction #Media4ClimateJustice

Imagine 2,000 garbage trucks dumping plastic into oceans every single day , that’s 11 million tons of plastic pollution yearly . This is not just unsustainable, it’s unacceptable. With better policy and action, we can protect our oceans for generations. #BeatPlasticPollution

Ending plastic pollution means one thing : Reduction in plastic production. If other sustainable ways of packaging or branding by these companies are not looked into or adopted, we may continue to fight plastic pollution forever

Despite facing some of the harshest climate impacts, African countries receive only 3–4% of total global climate finance. Climate justice means equity, not charity. Therefore , equity must lead the conversation on climate finance. #ClimateFinance #ClimateJustice

Nigerian Spiderman 🇺🇬CHRIS SSALI 🇷🇼 - Lack of early notification means for proper evacuation of people and properties. However, it's time stricter measures are put in place towards mitigating the effects of flooding and so that we can all finally be at peace during rainy seasons. It's therefore important that we all embrace positive changes such as this, for a sustainable future. Additionally, I hope other states in the country can follow suite, so that we can all end plastic pollution. Climate Justice Advocacy Initiative Prof Chinwe Obuaku Nigerian Spiderman Wiz of Tech 💙

Between 2008–2018, coastal fish species declined by 6%, which could be far worse by2048. Climate change, pollution & extreme weather conditions are emptying our oceans. Protecting marine life is protecting our future. #ClimateAction #SaveOurOceans

Nigeria produces an estimated 2.5 million tons of plastic waste every year, but only 12% is recycled. The rest ends up clogging our drains, rivers and coastlines fueling floods and marine pollution. We must adopt proper waste management and recycling to protect our environment.

If we don’t change, by 2050 our oceans could have more plastic than fish. This could also endanger the lives of other aquatic animals and lead them into extinction. It’s not a prediction , it’s a warning!! #BeatPlasticPollution
