This week, workers at the ONLY non-unionized plant 🇺🇸 of the largest automaker in the world Volkswagen is voting to join UAW. The global union movement is right behind you 💪🙌👊

This morning at the Rebalancing Europe Conference, I spoke about the threat of unchecked monopoly power for services workers, and how our trade unions are fighting back against companies like Amazon (including by kicking out their lobbyists from the European Parliament).

From 2020 to 2022, Amazon received almost 30 million euros for AWS contracts with different EU Directorate-Generals, reveal Oliver Roethig and Agnes Jongerius in this EUobserver op-ed.

EU institutions shouldn’t have contracts with an anti-union company like Amazon.

We can all be thankful that the @ICJ unanimously took this decision. Famine is no longer a threat- it is a reality. Israel must allow food into Gaza.

Here in Jordan, and across the region, UNRWA is a lifeline of hope:

Providing education for over half a million girls & boys, and health care for two million people.

In a darkening world, it's the one ray of light for so many.

We must not take that hope away.

I can’t shake the heartbreak I witnessed while meeting with Palestine & Sudanese refugees during my Ramadan solidarity visit to Egypt & Jordan.

But I will not give up.

We must keep doing all we can to allow our common humanity to prevail in Gaza & other places around the world.
