We had a great time Saturday at the Glenn County Health and Human Service Agency's Children's Fair! It is always an honor for the California Highway Patrol to participate in events like this.

Officer Ovard was recognized by CHP's Northern Division as the CHP Willows Area's officer of the year. Our automotive technician, Tim Ball, was recognized as the Willows Area's nonuniformed employee of the year. Congratulations to both of you and thank you for the hard work!

***CHP Willows Area's Newest Enforcement Vehicle Has Arrived!!*** This new Specially Marked Patrol Vehicle is currently out and about, with the goal to keep all drivers safe by targeting aggressive, dangerous, and speeding drivers in Glenn County.

A big shout out to Caltrans for the completion of the State Route 162 Butte City Bridge Replacement Project. This new bridge is vital for the safe transportation of motorists and the community it serves. Thank you for allowing CHP to be part of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

The California Highway Patrol is initiating a Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) from 6 a.m. Saturday, June 7th, to 5:59 a.m. Sunday, June 8th. Officers will be targeting unsafe speeding, which contributes to causing 30% of crashes. Slowing Down = Saving Lives. It’s that simple.

The California Highway Patrol Willows Area is out in full force today, combating speeding motorists during the Maximum Enforcement Period, from 6:00 AM on June 7th to 5:59 AM on June 8th! Please watch your speed and drive careful.

The CHP Willows Area extends its congratulations and welcome to Officers Sutton and Brown who reported for duty today after graduating from the California Highway Patrol Academy. Both officers are eager to begin serving the residents of Glenn County.

Interstate 5 Northbound is blocked just north of County Road 48 due to a crash. The roadway is expected to reopen in approximately 15 minutes.
