Great to see Simon Williams back at Norway Chess as part of the Take Take Take team! Simon must have been delighted when Magnus went 1 d4 Nf6 2 Nc3 d5 3 Bf4. If you're unsure who coined the name 'Jobava London'...๐ Enjoy Norway and ECFonline's Cambridge International! #chess

Our June magazine is out and available from Chess & Bridge: London Chess Centre! Copies will ideally reach subscribers over the next week or so. Ju Wenjun is on the cover, with Daniel King featuring a Ju win in his popular HGIYC feature! Look out too for 60 Seconds with...GothamChess! #chess

And we're underway in the big International Chess Federation event, #FIDERapidBlitzTeams! Live commentary from Jovanka Houska & Daniel King! London-based Sassy Seniors - go Natasha Regan! - are up against the might of Wadim Rosenstein's WR troops in round one! Three more rounds today! #chess

And Jovanka Houska and Daniel King are back as the Blitz gets underway! After three exciting days of International Chess Federation Team Rapid, ones we doubt Sharks 4NCL ๐บ๐ฆ and their skipper Ben Purton will forget in a hurry! Enjoy the blitz, with Nepo now there! #chess

Our July pages are at the printer! After his success in the Grand Chess Tour at Bucharest, Praggnanandhaa is on the cover. Inside Malcolm Pein gives the inside story of #FIDERapidBlitzTeams, while star commentator there, Daniel King, presents a fine win by Ivanchuk! #chess

As well as the latest from Malcolm Pein, you may well enjoy Neil Hickman on Vidmar-Yates - yes, that game, Matthew Sadler! - Gary Haines on chess in WW1 or that James Plaskett is still playing spectacular games! #chess

Play is underway at the English Chess Federation (ECF) Championships in Kenilworth! Vitiugov, Michael Adams, Gawain Maroroa Jones headline! Games on lichess.org and elsewhere. Final round of the English Chess Federation (ECF) & ECFonline organised English Championships at 10am tomorrow. All to play for in the Women's event, while in the Open Michael Adams leads Nikita Vitiugov and Matthew Wadsworth by half a point! It could be an exciting last round! #chess

Glossop CC only started in 2021 and last weekend they staged their first congress! ๐ It began with a talk by Natasha Regan and Matt Ball, then saw two competitive sections, with Andrew Ledger & Maksym Larchikov sharing first in the Open (photos: Brendan O'Gorman). #chess

Just under four hours until play begins in the English Chess Federation (ECF) organised British Championship at St George's Hall, Liverpool! Defending champion Gawain Maroroa Jones, Michael Adams & Nikita Vitiugov headline. Will Gawain produce another attack like Bischoff-Jones, EU Ch., Liverpool 2006? #chess

One contributor to our August pages, Simon Williams, has turned a King's Indian into more of a Rossolimo at English Chess Federation (ECF)' #BritishChess! Simon's excellent report covers Norway Chess in some detail. No less importantly, the ChessFest 2025 issue is available from Chess & Bridge: London Chess Centre! #chess

The superb feast of #chess that was the British - top work by Chess in Schools Merseyside & English Chess Federation (ECF) - might be over, but tomorrow KingstonChess Invitational begins, the MindSports SuperSwiss on Wednesday and on the 20th Tim Wall's (fine result in the Major Open๐) Northumbria Masters!

The reporting of some English Chess Federation (ECF) events is most impressive, with last night's Shirley & Wythall Rapidplay already up! Philip Purcell won, with Greenbecker second on 4/5! It's great to see Ben Graff doing well and we'll hear from him on the British in our September pages! #chess
