We had a bit of an international theme with some guests travelling from further afield to join us, including:

Celtic FC Foundation Supporters Committee 🍀 Celtic only entered the Glasgow North Eastern Cup twice…and won it on both occasions!

They then chose not to enter in 1890/91, presumably as the new Scottish League competition was introduced.

Cowlairs and Clyde were the most successful teams in the Glasgow North Eastern Cup.

Yesterday marked the day Irish Patriot Michael Davitt was born, 25th of March 1846.

He was Celtic Football Club’s first Patron and the man who was invited to ceremoniously lay the first sod of turf at the new Celtic Park in 1892 ☘️

The first and last trophies won by Celtic in the Willie Maley era.

The great man would score in the final of the Glasgow North Eastern Cup back in May 1889 and would be in the closing throes of his managerial tenure 50 years later as the Glasgow Cup was won again.
