Happy 60th anniversary to our dear country Nigeria on behalf of Officers, Soldiers/Ratings/Airmen and Airwomen of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. We remain committed to ensuring that our great nation remains one strong, indivisible entity. 60 TOGETHER.

Today I received His Excellency the Ambassador of Brazil to Nigeria- Mr Ricardo Guerra De Araujo in the DHQ. We had useful deliberations on strengthening existing and future bilateral relations on defence for the mutual benefit of Nigeria and Brazil.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defence was on a familiarization tour of the DHQ yesterday. His visit afforded us the opportunity to rub minds on strategies aimed at sustaining already existing synergy between the MOD and the AFN.

I am currently representing His Excellency the Hon Minister of Defence as SGOH at the Naval War College Nigeria. I salute the efforts of Nigerian Navy Information in ensuring that our dear Nation is rid of criminal activities and economic sabotage at sea through effective capacity building.

Earlier today, we were honored to host the HMOD as he commissioned the Defence Research and Development Bureau complex. With the Bureau, the DHQ is committed to providing home grown solutions to equipment deficit through effective research and development.

Congratulations to the young men and women of DSSC 27 on their POP/Commissioning ceremony which took place today at the Naval College Onne, Port Harcourt. I wish you all smooth sails and fair winds in the service of our great nation. Onward Together.

Yesterday we committed to earth, former CDS, a gentleman officer- Gen DY Bali (rtd). His demise is a great loss to the Armed Forces of Nigeria & the Nation at large. May his soul Rest In Peace & May God console his family as well as the Government & people of Plateau State.

Earlier today I was honored to once again pay my respect to our fallen heroes and veterans at this year’s inter-denominational church service to mark Armed Forces Remembrance Day. The AFN is immensely grateful for their service. May the labour of our heroes past never be in vain.

Today and always, we salute the bravery of the fallen and living heroes of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Nigeria remembers you. The Armed Forces Of Nigeria is proud of you. Your sacrifices will NEVER be forgotten! Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 🇳🇬

Today I formally hand over the baton of leadership as the CDS- AFN to Maj Gen LEO Irabor. I wish to sincerely appreciate the President, C-in-C of the AFN, and Nigerians for the privilege to serve this great country. I congratulate Maj Gen Irabor and wish him a successful tenure.

Today, I had a meeting with the GMD NNPC and his team, as well as Branch Chiefs of Defence Headquarters in a bid to ensure that the Nation's economy infrastructure is adequately protected. The AFN will not relent in ensuring that lives and property are safe guarded.

Earlier today at the National Cemetery Abuja, we laid to rest our gallant heroes who paid the supreme price in the course of peace and security of our nation. May their souls rest in peace and may God grant their families the fortitude to bear the loss.

I was honoured to receive His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State who is also the Chairman Nigeria Governors' Forum at Defence Headquarters. The AFN is committed to sustaining its relationship with the state in the interest of the nation.

In a bid to foster a stronger relationship between the AFN and the USA, I received the Commander United States Africa Command and the US Ambassador to Nigeria at Defence Headquarters.

I am delighted to receive the CEO MTN, Mr Karl Toriola and his team to Defence Headquarters to deliberate on how the AFN and MTN Nigeria can partner in the area of securing our country.
