Looking back on the past few months: one of my favorite AHA! Moments this year CBLibraries George G. Gayman Elementary: Watching my 3rd graders take their catalog search results with them on their 1-to-1 devices as they browse for books! So many new book discoveries are being made!
Reading Olympics Teams for our 5th and 6th grade George G. Gayman Elementary students are forming now!!! Can’t wait to fill the charts in our training zone with all the books we’ve read CBLibraries.

Our “Big Buddies” George G. Gayman Elementary are sharing some book love with their “Little Buddies” by choosing books/writing notes to them. The excitement from the little buddies as they receive their books is a joy to see CBLibraries.
My 3rd Grade CBLibraries students @CBBridgeValleyES are going back to basics creating posters by hand to share their database research. They are loving this chance to create and are learning layout skills and “ computer terms like text boxes” that they will use in the future.
1st grade students George G. Gayman Elementary CBLibraries are learning about library organization and developing library skills as the “store” acorns by its alphabet maker on the shelf and browse a shelf by driving a car on the shelf that begins with the same letter as their last name!
We are reading Paletero Man (lucky) George G. Gayman Elementary & Bridge Valley Elem. We love the rhythm of this text and its English/Spanish blend. Favorite moment: the glow on a student's face as he connected the story to trips to visit family in Honduras and Puerto Rico! (#CBLibraries)
Today, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to lunch with my 5th grade Reading Olympics Book Club George G. Gayman Elementary CBLibraries. I get to see you think in a different setting. WE get to fall in love with @kimbbbradley's The War that Saved My Life. #BucksReadingOlympics
Thank you to all George G. Gayman Elementary students and families who went on a book hunt to bring our overdue books home for the holidays! The books can't wait to be checked out again in the New Year! CBLibraries
After much brainstorming, conversation, and excitement—the George G. Gayman Elementary Reading Ravens’ Reading Olympics t-shirt design has begun to take shape. Reading Olympics isn’t just about the books. It’s about building a team, compromise, and creativity! CBLibraries
#1 of 14 Valentines to books George G. Gayman Elementary CBLibraries The Bird Feeder-About the love between a grandma and grandchild and grandma’s journey through hospice. This book is waiting on the shelf those that NEED it. Thank you Andrew Larsen doro PSLA_LitReview kidscanpress
Valentine to a Book #2: Fuzzy Mud. I had THE BEST book club discussions about this book when we had to meet for George G. Gayman Elementary CBLibraries book club remotely. The kids drew so many parallels between this book (written before Covid) and their pandemic experiences.
Valentine-to-a-book #3 CBLibraries George G. Gayman Elementary A Wrinkle in Time (Graphic Novel). Graphic Novels can introduce grown-ups to new books, too! I could never quite convince myself to read Madeleine L’Engle’s original. Then I discovered the graphic novel. Thank you Hope Larson!
The power of an author visit: following Aron Steinke’s author visit this spring, his books were checked out of George G. Gayman Elementary @CBLibraties 119 times by students! WOW!
Thank you, Clarion Books for sharing this ARC. One of my favorite reads of the summer, and to be added to George G. Gayman Elementary CBLibraries shelves ASAP. This is a SO MUCH MORE than a ghost story. Mystery, friendship, family, adventure, heart—all in one book!
Mrs. Bullock and her kindergarten CBLibraries students George G. Gayman Elementary used TEAMWORK to decorate our library door for the door decorating contest!!!! We are in it to win it! #GoGaymanMustangs!
Check out our new sensory wall at the George G. Gayman Elementary library! Just another way to help support all learners fellow welcome and thrive in CBLibraries. Thank you, @APalmerCBArt for the idea!
It’s our second Reading Olympics meeting George G. Gayman Elementary. Time to learn who’s on our team and to track our books. The teamwork begins CBLibraries
