And #YorCCA has now officially started! Rebecca Clift opens the conference with an important talk on "how to find an instance of something" (Lerner, 2004) and what that "something" (an interactional phenomenon) can be and how to uncover it using CA methods.

This should be excellent - two marvellous keynote speakers (Rebeca Clift and Elliott, both outstandingly good communicators) and a wealth of exciting postgraduate presentations.

Great talk by Matthew Butler on interviewers in news interviews setting limits on what interviewees should (not) include in their answers. So interesting to see how (supposedly neutral) interviewers do that in order to take a stance towards the topic. #YorCCA

Elliot Hoey Elliott presents on the activity of police recording in public and how interactional (dis)alignment happens between participants. #YorCCA
