Last month, following the cyclone Jude’s impact, CARE Malawi through the Malawi Drought Response Project (EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 funded) provided essential WASH supplies to Mangochi DHO under the Self Help Africa-led crisis modifier—supporting flood-hit communities with vital hygiene items.


The Malawi Drought Response Project, funded by EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺, is supporting families in Nsanje with K92,500 cash assistance over 3 months. Department of Disaster Management Affairs-DoDMA joined CARE Malawi and CARD to witness the impact. Together, we're building resilience in climate-affected communities.

The Ministry of Finance launched Malawi’s Stocktake Report on Climate & Disaster Risk Finance with support from the Global Shield. CARE Malawi, @CAREGermany & Civil Society Network on Climate Change (CISONECC) , through the InsuResilience MAP, are pushing for inclusive, gender-focused climate finance systems.



It is COMPLETE! 🎉Today, CARE and Old Mutual Malawi handed over a new school block at Katete Primary in Rumphi! Thanks to MWK114.9M support from Old Mutual (Blantyre) Foundation Trust, this is the 3rd block built under our 3-year partnership, boosting rural education.

This week, CARE Malawi and Old Mutual Malawi handed over rehabilitated classrooms and toilets at Chitedze and Chithumbwi primary schools, restoring learning spaces damaged by Cyclone Freddy and helping rural learners return to safe, dignified education. #EducationForAll #CARE


This #WorldYouthSkills Day, we celebrate youth like Vanessa George, 23, who are redefining possibilities. Through the EU in Malawi 🇪🇺 funded Nchito Mbambande project led by CARE, and implemented with CTC & mHub, she studied welding and secured attachments at top firms like NOCMA.









At the ECHO Learning Event, Commissioner for Department of Disaster Management Affairs-DoDMA , Rev. Moses Chimphepo praised Malawi’s coordinated disaster response and commended CARE Malawi & partners for swift, impactful action. When more actors unite, more resources are mobilized, and the impact is greater.
