What I'm constantly surprised by is how little anyone question the reputational *loss* to Victoria University & how long that'll take to rebuild. When the uni rebrands, the last ~100yrs of journal articles which note affiliations as Victoria University of Wellington don't change.

This is all true. The Auckland housing market may have calmed down - for now - but Wellington's hasn't. Every dollar house prices rise makes it that much harder for people to own their own home. Taxing capital gain is for wimps. Let's kill capital gain entirely.
