Japan’s PM speaks of “kizuna” and a “circle of friendship” with the #Pacific, yet they continue a 30-year plan of dumping nuclear wastewater into our #BluePacific. Is this true friendship? Real friends don’t dump rubbish in each other’s homes‼️ #PALM10Kizuna

Today, #climatechange country heads are gathered for the #COP29 Heads of Delegation retreat. We are less than four months away from the critical global climate change conference. Are developed countries and leading economies living up to their commitments on #climateaction?

Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN) & the Loss and Damage Collaboration (L&DC) estimate an NCQG financing of ~6 trillion. Of the total climate finance dedicated globally, & 40% given to Asia-Pacific, less than 5% of that enters the Pacific. We need to do better for vulnerable regions. We demand equitable Climate Financing.

Ouaaaa 🇹🇴 While leaders prepare for #PIFLM53, we joined 200 Tongan youth in visioning what the theme of “Build Better Now” could mean for our islands. And what is a resilient Pasifiki without a safe livable climate and some good old island dance-offs?

Fiji has taken its seat as Chair, & PYC as Co-Chair, as we collectively work to progress & realize the Pacific Youth Development Framework (PYDF), & our vision for 2050 & beyond. Youth should be given a seat at the table & allowed to take ownership over the future they deserve.
