Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN) & the Loss and Damage Collaboration (L&DC) estimate an NCQG financing of ~6 trillion. Of the total climate finance dedicated globally, & 40% given to Asia-Pacific, less than 5% of that enters the Pacific. We need to do better for vulnerable regions. We demand equitable Climate Financing.
ED @ilolahia_es says Pacific Peoples Forum will be a platform for sharing our rich cultural heritage and unique experiences, promoting learning & understanding across the region. Our basket filled with wisdom and knowledge to foster collaboration & progress of #people-centered.
As #PIFLM53 winds down, we’re looking to global climate fora as we join a press conference by Edmund Rice Centre on COP30 and COP31 solidarity between the Pacific and Australia CSOs.
Follow the money! A fantastic side event this morning in Tonga 🇹🇴 hosted by PIANGO Pacific 2030 looking at public finance and #accountability across the Pacific + the launch of Tonga’s Citizen Budget Guide. This work supported by our great friend EU Pacific 🇪🇺 🇪🇺.
PICAN looks forward to supporting Pacific Youth Council📣 in the development of the Pacific Youth Development Framework in the coming months. We hope to strengthen the #climatejustice lens to secure the safety and dignity of current & future generations as we face the triple planetary crisis.
