Firefighters from CALFIRE TCU are working today in the Groveland area on the Crook VMP. You may see smoke in the area from a prescribed burn of up to 350 acres to reduce fire threat and remove noxious weeds.

The #CrookVMP is also a great training opportunity for Copter 404 to utilize an aerial ignition device called the Plastic Spherical Dispenser (PSD) System. A safe and effective way to burn in remote areas.

Firefighters from CALFIRE TCU and staff from Big Trees State Park and Sierra Pacific Industries are working together on a Vegetation Management Program prescribed fire near the southern boundary of Big Trees State Park. This is located east of Arnold in #Calaveras County.
