Today the Orthodox Church celebrates the Placing of the Virgin Mary’s Girdle in Chalkoprateia Church during the 5th century. Recently restored as a mosque, its remains are a short distance west of Hagia Sophia. The girdle is now located Vatopedi Monastery at Mt. Athos
