The 3rd & final day of the Burnaby New Westminster Schools Athletic Assoc. District Championships had many highlights for our team! Lets start with some results by event before having a look at the team scores...

Our Byrne Creek Athletics 4x100m teams started off the day very well with 6 of our 8 teams qualifying for the Fraser North Zone Meet! Girls Junior: 7th Senior A: 5th Senior B: 9th Boys Bantam A: 3rd Bantam B: 6th Junior A: 5th Junior B: 9th Senior: 8th

Our 1500m runners were in some tough races and came out with good results. In the junior boys race only 2.5 seconds separated 3rd from 9th! Girls Junior: Neesha 2nd Boys Bantam: Dominic 6th, Ali 7th, Jacob 9th Junior: Talan 6th, 9th

Our Byrne Creek Athletics Long Jumpers had many great results! Disha won bantam event after tying for the best jump, but having the tiebreaker of a better 2nd best attempt! Girls Btm: Disha 1st Jr: Martina 2nd, Fiona 3rd Sr: Mia 6th Boys Btm: Carlos 4th, Rendel 9th Jr: Jesus 7th

The Byrne Creek Athletics javelin crew was 5/6's seniors. Our Jr thrower Paula threw well, unfortunately she had no distance due to some close fouls. The Sr's did great with 4 of them qualifying for zones! Girls Sr: MJ 4th, Enesa 7th, Emily 11th Boys Sr: Miljan 5th, Ryoma 6th

In the 100m we had some great results from younger members of our team! The Jr boys race was close with 0.23 seconds separating 3rd from 14th & only 0.04 separating 6th & 13th! Girls Bantam: Shina 2nd Boys Bantam: Clarence 2nd, Rainier 4th Junior: Ashton 4th, Paolo 13th

Our Byrne Creek Athletics Shot Put crew did well. While we had no top 3 finishes, all of our bantam & junior boys, as well as our senior gals finished top 6! Girls Senior: MJ 4th, Enesa 5th Boys Bantam: Carlos 5th Junior: Aldrin 4th, Jakerry 6th Senior: Miljan 9th, Aleni 10th

We had many strong results in the 400m highlighted by Clarence winning the bantam race & Paolo winning the Jr race! Girls Jr: Paula 9th Sr: Vittoria 4th, Tia 6th Boys Btm: Clarence 1st, Rainier 5th Jr: Paolo 1st, Jesus 7th, Kingsley 9th Sr: Aleni 7th, Joseph 10th

The 800m was a strong event for our Byrne Creek Athletics runners! There were some close races with the 5th & 10th separated by less than a second in the Jr boys race! Girls Jr: Neesha 2nd Sr: Tia 6th Boys Btm: Ali 4th, Dominic 7th, Jacob 10th Jr: Talan 6th, Jonas 9th, Kingsley 10th

The 200m brought some good results for our team with 5 of our athletes qualifying to zones! Girls Btm: Shina 5th Sr: Vittoria 9th Boys Btm: Clarence 2nd, Rainier 7th Jr: Ashton 3rd, Paolo 8th #BleedBlueandWhite

The last event of the day was the 4x400m & it was one of the best events for our team! The Jr boys had an excellent finish to the meet with a big win! Girls Jr: 3rd Sr: 4th Boys Btm: 3rd Jr A: 1st Jr B: 5th Sr: 5th #BleedBlueandWhite
