Really sad news. The world definitely lost an enthusiastic chemist and mentor. Jeffery Byers spent a lot of his time to teach his students Byers Lab carefully and passionately. He will be greatly missed.

Shocked to hear of the loss of Jeffery Byers He didn't know me at all, but said yes to me asking to do a sabbatical in Byers Lab . What an amazing mentor, chemist, and person. I learned so much from him and the group. What a monumental loss.
