The roses are out & the garden is feeling lush 🌹 The City doesn’t think it has to do an Environmental Impact Statement for destroying over 20k sqft of green space. Thankfully the NY State Supreme Court has ruled that they do, and we agree. #ElizabethStreetGarden #SaveESG

No one from Elizabeth Street Garden. It happened naturally and quite ironically from a partner of the City. Putting that here in writing for you. But I often wonder who lobbies you as a reporter attempting to twist narrative and spread misinformation.

Jeff Coltin Not surprising LinkNYC is recommending the garden. Its unique, beautiful and hugely used by thousands of New Yorkers and visitors to NYC. The true lobbyists were the ones who got it declared ‘blighted land.” Now that was political influence!

The most sustainable building is one that already exists. Adaptive reuse, like what the artists did in SoHo, beats tear down every time. wired.com/story/to-make-…

Those who claim excessive noise is just ok- just part of the 'urban experience'-suck it up & read how dangerous it is to one's health & hearing. Lackey -inept City Council members-i.e. Council Member Crystal Hudson BS about anything else-other than this: nytimes.com/interactive/20…

“Marte is physically present and actively engaged on issues all over the district, standing with residents on the matters that they care most strongly about. And that’s precisely why he continues to have so much support. “.

Today Governor Kathy Hochul announced a deal that increases the # of affordable units @ 5WTC w/a preference for #911Survivors & 1st Responders. This is a great first step & Affordable WTC Tower 5 looks forwards to working w/elected officials to bring even more affordable units to 5WTC.

Thank you ⁦Christopher Marte⁩ for your heartfelt comments on behalf of your constituents. 11 out of 45 Council members understood that this the Open Restaurants Law is terrible legislation. From the comments of those who voted for it, it’s clear many CMs never read it in full

Mayor Eric Adams Ignoring residents (voters) and making roadway dining permanent aka privatizing public space which decreases quality of life for residents is an odd bill to be proud of.

Don’t let Mayor Eric Adams + NYC Housing pull a fast one! Planned 388 Hudson St development’s affordable housing would be temporary, and would tower far above everything around it. We deserve better — PERMANENT affordable housing only, respectful scale + height: villagepreservation.org/campaign-updat…

Today, we do a third installment about the relation (or lack thereof) between the citywide upzoning "City of Yes for Housing Opportunity" and the current affordability crisis, and why this plan would help the wealthy and do nothing for those in need: villagepreservation.org/2024/08/02/get…
