It’s been a busy week with 3 call outs & our Thursday evening training session

On Wednesday a call out to Shutlingsloe, Thursday a joint call out at Crowden on Kinder with Kinder MRT then just after midnight on Saturday morning a joint call out with Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation to Giants Hole

14th Feb

The team was called out at 13.42 to a family group walking near Shutlingsloe.

Unfortunately, one member slipped causing a painful shoulder injury

First aid was given by the team and the casualty was stretchered to the awaiting ambulance at the road head.

Tegg’s Nose near Macclesfield

The team was called at 09:51 to assist the North West Ambulance Service to a walker who had fractured their femur.

Due to the serious nature of the injury North West Air Ambulance Charity was requested.

Incident 137 -Sunday 19 Nov 2023. Derbyshire Police tasked us an Buxton Mountain Rescue Team to to a fallen walker with a lower leg injury in the upper Cavedale . A splinted ankle and then a wet and windy evacuation back towards Rowter Farm then driven to Castleton, then conveyed to hosp by friends

Today’s call out in Edale…

2 consecutive call outs on Saturday…
Firstly, Jacob’s Ladder to a fallen mountain biker. The casualty was treated by a team paramedic for multiple injuries & stretchered to Edale to the ambulance.
Then to Waterswallows Quarry to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust in stretchering a casualty.

A busy 24-hours for the team with 3 call-outs.

At midnight, we responded to a request from Derbyshire Police re a stranded camper. The family had alerted us to his distress due to a medical episode,

Flo (Edale), Wren (@buxtonmountainrescue ) and Ebba (Edale) and their handlers were amongst the Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England Peak District Teams four legged detectives out training on Big Moor this morning. Thanks to all the volunteer dogs bodies. 🐾👍

Training, fundraising and operations continue for our dogs and volunteers, even if we are a bit busy with work and families to post here as often as we would like.
