Bump on Park Manhattan Bird Alert It may be better to alert the Wild Bird Fund if you find ducklings in need of rescue. Unfortunately, the Conservatory waters turned out to be very treacherous for the parents and their ducklings (too many other ducks competing for territory).
Bump on Park Manhattan Bird Alert I was only suggesting that there is help in rescuing wildlife in trouble: call 311 or contact Wild Bird Fund. They could advise if the pond already had too many ducks. Or told you that a red-tail hawk had a nest nearby, as others have noted.
Bump on Park Manhattan Bird Alert It's my understanding that 6 of the ducklings didn't make it. (I only have this information second hand from people who saw what was happening to the ducklings.)

Bump on Park Manhattan Bird Alert And you don't need to worry about rangers or WBF separating a family: they, too, know it's best to keep the baby ducklings with their mother, if at all possible.
Lyn Heideman Manhattan Bird Alert Do you have more info on this? We noticed that all the ducklings were now gone.
