RE Nerds: This is a great chance to slingshot your career, it's a fixed term project so not everyone will be able, but for those wanting something new and some space to really think about curriculum, it's ace. Quality will be critical here, but a rising tide lifts all boats!

I want to let this steep a little before I blog on it, but that will be coming. In the main this feels helpful, but without any teeth. If so many schools are breaking the law by not providing RE, why is this not enforced? Many of us have been fighting for years with an arm tied.

My current school nails wellbeing, I love it and enjoy my time as a teacher, father and husband without feeling 'the guilt'. It's all led by a Head with clear morals and ethical principles, tragically rare in too many leaders these days. Healthy happy humans make better teachers.

I will no longer be leading RE for OrmistonAcads from September, but would like to thank Kymberley for being an ace partner-in-crime. I'm glad we did as much as we could to push the subject, but the task is very far from complete and I wish her luck!
