It has been both an inspiring and thoughtful time with the Premier's Youth Council as they held their first in-person meetings since the pandemic. Youth retention, mental health, Come Home 2022, immigration, and Reconciliation were amongst the many discussions.

Terry Fox died on this day 41 years ago, June 28, 1981 at the age 22 after having run 5,373 kilometres in the Marathon of Hope. Terry's goal was to raise $1-million for #cancer research. Lest we Forget.

107 years ago on this day, over 700 members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment were killed or wounded during the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel. This tragedy stole husbands, fathers, brothers and son's from our island and altered the course of NL history forever. We will never forget.

When the call came, brave young Newfoundlanders and Labradorians roughly the same age as my children signed up to fight for our freedoms in WWI. Too many mothers were never able to lay their sons to rest. Now, we have the overwhelming honour of bringing one of them home.

Thinking about Terry Fox today. My hero forever and the greatest Canadian. Thank you for everything.
