Hawking class made Tuna pasta salad in their independence lessons this week.

Green class have coordinated a loose change collection today for the Children’s Heart Surgery at LGI. To celebrated all the heart warriors across our school #CHSF. All pupils wore red and linked in with Valentine’s Day doing lots of heart related activities.

Hawking class made Omelettes this week in their independence lessons, they learnt how to crack an egg and how to use a knife safely. During their Topic lesson they choose their favourite toppings from a selection of sweet treats, to put on their pancakes for Pancake day.

This week Pink Class have been settling back into class. We’ve really enjoyed exploring different stories, using our senses and developing our communication skills during group time!

Roald Dahl Class at Windmill have been learning how to look after ourselves. We started by learning how to wash our hands properly and started an investigation by handling pieces of bread before and after we washed our hands to see which would go mouldy the quickest.

In Disney class we’ve begun to learn about keeping clean - this week we did some work on washing hands, when we wash them and how.

This week in Swan Class we have been trying delicious pancakes for 'Pancake Day'. We learnt how to squeeze the lemons to make lemon juice and we sprinkled sugar on our pancakes. Yum!

Yellow class have begun to look at the solar system and use different media and paint effects to create a scale model. We worked hard on our symbol exchanging and turn taking. A fantastic first week back!

Green class has had a lovely day celebrating world book day. This morning we had a Gruffalo adventure and this afternoon made potions from George’s Marvellous Medicine.

Roald Dahl Class have been reading the story The Disgusting Sandwich. We followed instructions to make our own disgusting sandwiches. Would you eat one?

This week has been National Careers week. At Broomfield we have renamed careers as Future Steps so that we can include every young person and help them to be as independent as possible.

In Disney class this week we watched a video clip of a child visiting the dentist we ordered how to brush our teeth and made our own mouths using marshmallows for teeth! Our egg shell experiment showed us that water and milk doesn’t change the colour of the shell but coke does.

Owl Class are really enjoying our space topic. We have been dressing as astronauts, decorating our rocket ship role play and writing about aliens!

Pink class have really enjoyed celebrating world book day this week! We loved beat hunt, the gruffalo and George’s marvellous medicine!

This week Owl class created colourful pictures inspired by the Hindu festival of Holi. We also built our own alien flying saucers!

Bronte class have been busy making Mother's Day gifts to sell Wednesday afternoon. Gifts cost no more than £2 and will be in sale in Bronte classroom. All proceeds are going to Homeless Street Angels charity which Bronte class have researched and decided to support.

Windmill have been involved in a school’s hatching programme this Spring. We saw the eggs before they hatched and then had a cuddle of the ducklings when they were born. Some of us were confused as to where the Mummy was but we discussed the role of the electrical incubator.

This week in pink class we have been working on our fine motor skills and exploring the story of room on the broom. We also learned about holi through sensory play activities.
