What an amazing experience, one of the hardest treks of my life, taking several hours to get there hiking through the night on my own ! But what a treat when the sun rose and I had 6+ lekking Andean cock-of-the-rock just a few feet away !

Two lifer day! Was kind of the Myrtle to stay a whole month so I could see it after my dissertation was due, and a bonus bufflehead. Apologise for the dreadful photos had left all my birding gear at home 🤦‍♂️

Amazing day today with great views of the pale-legged leaf warbler, icterine and RB flys, the later two also being lifers believe it or not! Pleased to finally see them, long overdue.

Great views of the DW this morning. During my 2-3 year period of no birding the holy island bird was my biggest regret to miss, so, pleased about this bird to say the least ! Bonus Richards pipit too was nice

Some more footage of the Cornish booted from yesterday. Managed to spot it very distantly from the A30 lay-by perched, so jogged to the other side of crowlas to find it still sat on the same branch !

After lifering quail earlier in the week only a mile from my house, doing my first long distance twitch for the cisticola was a good end to it. Only distant song flights but fairly content with that.

(Yesterday) A mad dash after work and finally connected with my most wanted UK tick ! Love a raptor and they don’t get much better than this ! No scope with me so some generous people allowed me to get good views and some questionable hand held record shots.

The Leaches petrel at Cheddar reservoir today showed outrageously well! Watching the other bird get ripped apart by gulls on arrival wasn’t a good start but lucky this bird avoided the attention of the gulls and gave everyone a show.

Unreal day on Scilly today with the lovely mourning dove✔️showing very well, then a short stroll away a Hoopoe on a beach showing down to a few feet. Then on the way to the American pipit✔️a very confiding Spotted sand. And a Rose finch ✔️on Mary’s!
